Oi is the most broadly useful informal “hi.” Olá is neutral. Bom dia, boa tarde, and boa noite change with the time of day.
To say your name, use Eu me chamo Ana or Meu nome é Ana. Como você se chama? asks someone’s name; Prazer means “nice to meet you.”
Brazilian Portuguese commonly uses Tudo bem? for “How are you?” A natural reply is Tudo bem, e você?.
