Portuguese nouns are masculine or feminine. o livro and um livro are masculine; a casa and uma casa are feminine. Learn nouns with their articles.
Most plurals add -s: livro → livros, casa → casas. Nouns ending in -m change to -ns: homem → homens.
Articles agree in number: o/a become os/as, and um/uma become uns/umas.
