Icons (Insert tab → Icons) provide a library of simple, genuinely professional-looking symbols representing common concepts, without needing separate downloaded graphics.
Once you have multiple shapes that function as one visual unit, grouping them (select all the shapes, right-click → Group, or Ctrl+G) treats them as a single object going forward — moving, resizing, or copying the group affects everything inside it together, rather than needing to select and adjust each individual shape separately every time.

A genuinely useful, related technique: holding Shift while clicking multiple shapes selects all of them simultaneously, before grouping — genuinely faster than clicking each one, then choosing Group separately from a menu each time. This connects directly to why grouping matters: without it, moving a five-shape diagram to a new position on the slide means individually repositioning all five shapes, risking breaking their careful alignment relative to each other.
